Welcome to this tutorial on enhancing your Dell keyboard experience with Dell Display and Peripheral Manager, or DDPM. To get started, select the keyboard from the DDPM home screen to open the overview page, where you can access settings and customization options.
Here, you'll see an image of your device along with details like the device, model name, firmware version, connectivity status, battery level, and tabs such as key customization, collaboration, and illumination. On the overview page, programable keys are highlighted on the keyboard image.
To assign an action, select a key and choose from the available options in the dropdown menu. For instance, you can set a key to open a frequently used web page or file, allowing for instant access and saving you time. You can also customize a key for productivity tasks, such as opening a new browser tab or minimizing all windows to quickly view your desktop.
For select models, the collaboration tab lets you control tools like collaboration touch controls for Microsoft Teams, and Zoom meetings. With DDPM, you can easily turn these touch controls on and off. You can mute and unmute your microphone, toggle your video on or off, share your screen or open the chat panel with a single or double tap.
In the illumination tab, you can adjust your keyboard's backlight settings to improve visibility or personalize your setup. Whenever an update is available for DDPM or the keyboard firmware, the gear icon will light up. Navigate to the updates tab and follow the prompts to easily download and install the latest updates, keeping the DDPM application and keyboard up to date.
